Cardiotherapy

This is a form of high intensity interval training (HIIT). It is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods.

Patrons are required to perform a short burst of high or maximum intensity exercise followed by a brief low intensity activity, repeatedly, until too exhausted to continue. These sessions last under thirty minutes.

Cardiotherapy varies based on participant’s current fitness level.

Cardiotherapy workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition as well as improved glucose metabolism. Research shows that HIIT regimes successfully produced significant reductions in the fat-mass of the whole body.

What is LRT (Longevity Resistance Training)? This is Fitness Factory’s brand of metabolic training.

LRT work and rest intervals closely mimic athletic encounters during sport. It comes at a high metabolic cost to the body.

The goal is to complete structural and compound exercises with little or no rest between exercises in an effort to maximize calories burnt and increase metabolic rate during and after workout sessions.

Density

How much work you put in. LRT use large muscle groups. Structural and compound exercises are types of exercises that require a maximum amount of energy because multiple joints are involved.

Focus on alignment.

Active Rest

LRT sessions are high intensity anaerobic  exercises that makes you breathless. If you are completing LRT sessions and  you are not breathing hard or sweating, something is wrong. Ideally you rest as little as possible between sets.

Strategic Recovery

The down-side of LRT is not recovering. After sets and sessions take time to recover fully (a day between sessions, and if a beginner as much needed between sets).

That way you're able to push for intensity during sessions/ exercises. If you're not strategic with LRT your body may not be able to recover properly.

Volume

A LRT workout should help create a burning sensation in your muscles as you are working out. So get in as many sets and quality reps as you can within the designated time.

While the depth of muscle stimulation from LRT is not as deep as the stereotypical bodybuilder program, where you hit one muscle the entire session, it is still very much significant.  The old school system of achieving that burn has been debunked.

Factory Spin Club is addictive and you will quickly become a regular attendee upon taking this class. Punching the pedal indoors at least once a week for months.
